∙ 11y agoMexico and the Philippines were once both colonies of Spain, hence Spanish and Roman Catholicism (Mexico: 88%, Philippines: 83%) are common among both countries. The Philippines colony was administered from New Spain (present-day Mexico), and there was a yearly trade route from Manila to Acapulco through the Pacific Ocean, known as the Manila-Acapulco Galleon which lasted for 250 years. This meant a consistent cultural exchange during that time.
