You can have second cousins who are not related to your aunt. If the two are related, it is because they are both descended from one person who is one of your great grandparents.

If they are related to each other, your second cousin and your aunt are first cousins, once removed. This is so because your second cousin is the child of someone who is first cousin to one of your parents, and therefore also to your aunt, who is the sister of that same parent. The child of your first cousin is your first cousin, once removed.
