Well, the lowest note possible is a B flat (below the staff) all the way up to F (above the staff) giving it a range of 2 and a half octaves. (Exceptions: many baritone saxophones are keyed to low A, and many modern saxophones are keyed to high F# or even G in a few cases.)

However, there are things called altissimo notes which get even higher and more are still being found. Adding altissimo another 2 octaves can be reached.

If you want lower notes than B flat you can stick a rolled-up newspaper, file folder, or something similar in the bell. On alto (maybe tenor) you can use your left knee to partially cover the bell and produce a low A.

Can oboes and saxophones read off of the same music?

Not often. Saxophones are transposing instruments (the note they see and finger is not the note that comes out) and oboes are not. C "melody" saxophones are relatively rare, but they would be able to read C music along with an oboe.
