There is a saying: "The squeaky wheel gets the grease". This is probably true when complaining to Sears. but be correct, polite accurate, firm and so on.
I have heard that Benjamin Franklin was once a baker and pushed his baking cart around to sell his goods. He had a squeaky wheel on his cart and noticing that it drew attention to him and his cart of goods, he sold more, therefore he kept the squeaky wheel.
The squeaky wheel gets the grease. ONE day is the norm.

There is a small spring loaded metal contact which slides on a disk on the back of the steering wheel. Normally there is di-electric grease on the disk and over time it gets rubbed off and will start to squeak. Removing the steering wheel and adding some di-electric grease to the area should eliminate the sound.
