it depends what kind of DVD ripper you are using. I recommend DVD shrink 2.3 to rip the DVD and VSO DvixtoDVD 0.5.2 to convert it and DvixtoDVD 4 to burn it.
I use a knife to get rid of the shrink wrap. Just be careful not to cut yourself or damage the case.
I don't think so. But you can get a DVD ripper to do the job. Here are some freeware: DVD Decrypter, DVD Knife, DVD Shrink. Then you can watch the ripped video with wmp.
