Best Answer

Fascism has been shown to be an immensely destructive political ideology, during WW II, and it remains largely on the political fringe, although it seems to be gaining ground in Greece at the present time under the name of "Golden Dawn". The significance is that when people are desperate, they may resort to extreme solutions, which can easily make their problems even worse.
