Persian Wars 499-449 BCE ended the expansion of Persia westwards and left the Greek city-states free to contiue their usual fighting between each other. It raised Athens and the ant-Persian allies it had collected into an empire dominating those allies.
Peloponnesian War 431-404 BCE was the culmination of this post-Prsian inter-city fighting. It brought the Peloponnesian cities together against the Athenian empire which was eventually after the war had devastated Greece.
The fiting continued on after the war until Macedonia came to dominance in Greece and then invaded Persia.
