What is the significance of the title 'Without Seeing the Dawn' by Stevan Javellana?

Well, the first part of the book is "Day," talking about a time of peace, and the second part of the book is called "Night," talking about a time of war, and so it could mean that the darkness was still there with military occupation and war... and that Dawn wouldn't come until all of those things were over.
