Have your blood drawn in any lab (with a doctor's order for blood typing) and you will receive the results.

An even easier way to do this is to donate blood (e.g. to the Red Cross or similar organizations) and they will automatically type it - and tell you your blood type if you just ASK. :)

One of the way is to use anti sera - which forms clums to whatever your blood type is. In detail, you draw out a few drops of one's blood and place them into three separate places. You use type A and type B and Rh anti sera to each of the place and see if there are any clumpings. Rh value is to determine if you carry any agglutinins - something that can't be mixed betwen blood type A and B.

A complex testing for blood transfusion is called cross-matching. Otherwise, simple fingerpricks can also determine which blood type a person has. And if someone knows their Biology well, they can put a sample of their own blood under a microscope and as long as they know what to look for, they can identify their blood type. ABO & Rh is the standard typing test. Blood type and cross is done when blood products maybe needed.

You can always donate blood for it to be determined, but when you get the testing done the results will depend on your RHO combinations. In your blood there are different antigens that come in A and B, but if neither are present than you have O for a blood type.

Blood test are conducted to determine an individuals blood type. The letter "O" refers to what type of antigens that are contained in your blood. Blood type A has the "A antigen", blood type B has the "B antigen", blood type AB has "A and B antigens". Blood type "O", however, does not have any antigens in the blood.

I am not aware of the name of the test used to type blood--maybe a 'blood type test.' If a person is to give blood to a sibling for anything surgical, the medical team will usually do the testing. If a person wishes to donate blood, such as through Red Cross, this agency will also type your blood.
