California is one of the largest states in the USA, so there are many Californians who have ideas and opinions they want to share. In the major cities (including Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Sacramento) ideas are often spread at the various universities, centers of government, medical research facilities, and civic organizations. Ideas are also spread by the media (Hollywood is in California, and it is the home of the movie industry, for example), including in newspapers and magazines and on TV and radio. And ideas are spread by well-known speakers and politicians, some of whom give speeches at special events. Also, Californians exchange ideas via the internet, on the phone, and by hanging out with each other at coffee shops or bookstores or other places where friends go to enjoy some good conversation.
