Insert a lighted splint into the reaction test tube. If it extinguishes with a "pop" sound, Hydrogen is present. The duller the pop the purer the hydrogen is.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------P.S. that's a burning splint.
the test for hydrogen is when you put hydrocholic acid in a test tube and then put (zinc) in it. you then place another test tube on top of it so it catches all the gas. once it has stopped reacting you get a lighted splint and put it in the tube with the gas and if you hear a pop hydrogen is present.
If there is oxygen present it will burn (explosively)
you use a burning splint and you put it inside a test tube full of hydrogen. if the gas is really hydrogen then the burning splint should go out with a squeaky pop. :)
Place a lighted splint at the mouth of the test tube/apparatus. If hydrogen is formed, the splint extinguishes with a "pop" sound.
A popping sound will be heard.

nothing....
The burning splint test is used to test for the presence of hydrogen. The symbol for hydrogen is H.
Hydrogen
Standard Mean Ocean Water. (SMOW)
The standard electrode potentials are determined on the basis of the Hydrogen scale. The standard electrode potential of Hydrogen is arbitrarily fixed as zero.
The product is hydrogen. to test for hydrogen, take a lighted match or a splint and bring it near the place where you think there is hydrogen and if you hear a squeaky "POP!" there is hydrogen there
the hydrogen pop test
The burning splint test is used to test for the presence of hydrogen. The symbol for hydrogen is H.
HThis is the symbol for hydrogen.
Hydrogen
The pop test
Standard hydrogen electrode forms the basis of the thermodynamic scale of oxidation reduction potentials.
The "squeaky pop" test. You burn a wooden splint and put it in the contained hydrogen gas. If hydrogen is present you will hear a pop.
California standard test
No: hydrogen sulfide is a gas at standard room temperature and pressure
hydrogen burns in air with a pop sound
