There is no statute of limitations. If you don't pay or appear, they find you guilty and issue a bench warrant for your arrest. They also suspend your drivers license. Not paying a speeding ticket is a good way to end up spending the weekend in jail. lwpat http://www.speedingticketcentral.com

Maryland tickets do not expire. The purpose of a statute of limitations does not apply to traffic violations. Some jurisdictions may provide an amnesty for payment, but those are rare in these hard times.

Yes. And I am not sure what the other answerer's are knosimg, but I want some. Your insurance premium will definitely rise since it will no longer be owner occupied. You will likely want to change your coverage around a bit too since the situation will change (like increasing medical for the sake of injury on the property but decreasing personal property since it won't be your stuff). At your option, you could require your tenant to carry renters insurance to cover their personal property.

As laws vary from place to place, you would have to check with the issuing authority in Virginia, the city, county or state to resolve this citation. Statute of Limitations is to prevent someone being accused of something years after it happened when witnesses are not available and memories are not fresh. A ticket eliminates this issue. Once a ticket has been issued, there is no requirement that there be any sort of time frame associated with resolving it.

In Vermont, once a speeding ticket has been issued, you have been given proper notice of the violation. The statute of limitations no longer applies.

Since the authorities have already issued the ticket the Virginia statute of limitations no longer apply. The driver has already been given legal notice of the violation.
