I believe it is absorbtion...but in not entirely sure..i think its absorbtion because the cilia is to increase surface area so more absorbtion in the digetsivve track is possible...hope this is helpful and i hope in not giving false information!
to line parts of the body. an example would be the skin. ciliated (tiny hairs) cells are found in throat, folopian tube and simple are found in stomach, intestine etc .. they contain all the normal organelles and can divide by motosis.
The function of ciliated columnar epithelium is to move mucus and other substances found in the fallopian tubes, lungs, and other organs.
The cells function in secretion and protection.
In case of columnar epithelium, you have tall cells packed. That makes more number of cells available to do particular work. More cell mass is present to do that extra work.
pseudostratified ciliated columnar epithelium
psuedostratified ciliated columnar epithelial cells and goblet cells
Simple columnar epithelium cells line the stomach. These cells also line the small intestine and the large intestine. They are uni-layered and are of two types - ciliated and non-ciliated.
simple ciliated columnar and non ciliated columnar are the same cells, epithelium cells ,simple have nucleus they absorb materials, found in intestines in digestive system and Tracia etc
Cilia
The cells that line the epithelium in the tracheae are ciliated pseudostratified columnar epithelium cells. They are of three types -ciliated cellsgoblet cellsbasal cells

Pseudostratified columnar epithelium (ciliated form)
Simple columnar epithelium of the digestive tract can present as either ciliated or non-ciliated. The ciliated moves mucus in the respiratory system, the non-ciliated lines the gastrointestinal tract.

The function of simple columnar tissue is to provide protection against any bacteria that might be ingested. However, it is still permeable enough for necessary ions to enter.KKK
Ciliated Epithelium is a modification of the Columnar epetheliun. In this columnar cells have fine, hair like cilia on their free surface. It is found in trachea and bronchi to expel any dust or food or pollutant particle out of air passage. It is also present in the fallopian tubes to move the ovum or zygote.
ciliated columnar epithelium
The ciliated columnar epithelium lines the trachea(windpipe) and bronchi(lungs). The squamous epithelium forms the delicate lining of cavities(nose and alveoli etc.)
