How has Juliet changed during the play?

Juliet matures over the course of the play. She begins as a naïve girl who's dependent on her family and ends up a woman willing to desert that family to be with the man she loves. Where does this maturation takes place? We see something going on when Juliet meets Romeo. Every time Juliet comes onstage after this transformative scene, her love continues to change and deepen.

Juliet changes during the course of the play from a young dreamfilled girl into a disobidient and persistant young women. This is shown in the way she disobays her parents, when she would never have done that before meeting Romeo. Also she starts to make rash decisions, where as she would have thought about her decions more and consulted the nurse earlier in the play. She becomes more persistant with her love and starts to make her own dicisions, therefore becoming more independant.

When we first see her she hasn't even thought of marriage, and her Nurse goes on and on about how cute Juliet was as a toddler, which makes her seem even younger than her 13 years.

As the play progresses, she has to rely more and more on herself. For example, after she is already (secretly) married to Romeo, her father demands that she marry Paris. She refuses and he becomes very angry, but when she asks her Nurse for her advice, the Nurse advises that Juliet commit bigamy by marrying Paris. After that she deceives both her father and the Nurse.

He doesn't change; he stays immature and makes impulsive decisions throughout the whole play. He stays very emotional. Although he does display some maturity when consoling Juliet in 3,5 "And all these woes shall serve as sweet discourses in our times to come." At this point he reminds one of Lysander in Midsummer Night's Dream consoling Hermia with "the course of true love never did run smooth."
