Antisemitism
Antisemitism as it is used in the English language today refers to discrimination against Jews. While Arabs (and certain others) are also Semitic peoples, the English term "antisemitism" was coined (around 1860) to refer to discrimination against Jews. Antisemitism was designed to sound much more scientific, and therefore more acceptable, than the common term for this hatred of Jews "Judenhass" (which literally means "Jew-hatred" in German).
Hatred of Jews, regardless of whether or not it is irrational, is called Anti-Semitism.
In Nazi Germany it meant persecution, hatred, deportation and death.
