A 1981 Kennedy quarter would have a face value of 25 cents. In terms of collectible value, it would generally be worth its face value unless it is in uncirculated condition or has specific mint errors.

It would be worth zillions - there were no half dollars struck with that date.

All halves, quarters, and dollars struck in 1975 and 1976 carried the dates 1776-1976 in honor of the Bicentennial.

50 cents. It wasn't minted that way. It's a privately made novelty item, the flip side of all of those Lincoln cents with a picture of Kennedy stamped on them. (They're only worth 1 cent, btw.)

Circulation-quality half dollars minted since 1971 are made of copper-nickel, just like dimes and quarters, and have no added value. Feel free to spend any halves with those dates and either no mint mark, a P, or a D above the date.

Proof halves (S mint mark only) were made from both copper-nickel and from silver in 1998. The former sell for $4 to $5 and the others go from $12 to $650 depending on the variety.

John Kennedy did not appear on the 1981 quarter (or any quarter, for that matter) - George Washington did. Kennedy did appear on the 1981 half dollar, however. Neither are worth more than face value in circulated condition, and no more than a dollar or two each in normal Uncirculated or Proof (it would need to be in the MS-65/Pf-65 range before values became significant).

The other 2 dates were added after the coin was minted by someone who used a metal punch. It's a reasonable assumption they were trying to create some sort of memento of the 25th anniversary of JFK's election, but it's not something done at the Mint.

In any case a standard 1984 circulation half dollar is only worth face value, so the fact that someone altered it doesn't affect its value.

What is the value of a 1776-1976 Kennedy quarter?

It's either not a quarter or not Kennedy. JFK's picture is on the half dollar. Washington is on the quarter, where he's been for about 80 years. Either way these are common coins left over from the Bicentennial. In circulated condition they're only worth face value or a couple of extra cents.

What is the value of a 1981 Kennedy half dollar?

All circulation 1971 and later halves are made of copper-nickel, not silver, so they have no added value if you found it in change. A nice uncirculated 1981-P half might bring $1 to $8 depending on quality. A 1981-D would be $1 to $12.
