75-150 dollars.
Should be a Stevens rifle, but the peep sight would probably be aftermarket. If you can send a digital picture of the rifle and a closeup of the sight we can probably ID it for you. sales@countrygunsmith.net
I think your rifle was made by Mossberg, and is a model 45A. These were very good target rifles, amde 1837-38. Value will depend on condition, typically $100-$200, less if missing the rear peep sight.
These were good target rifles, made around 1937-43. Value will depend on condition, typically $50-$200, less if missing the rear peep sight.
I believe it was made by mossberg and sons in the 30s Im trying to find out as well. Found the link for mossberg and sons. It was made in 1938. Go to Mossberg web sight and they have all there firearms in catalog
I have one of the Western Field 38 and after some searching on the internet I found a sight with OLD mossberg catalogs on it. http://home.epix.net/~damguy/catalog.htm it looks like mine is a Mossberg Model 35 with No.3 Peep Sight and and the mulit post ramp sight. I think the No.3 peep was a lower cost option than the micro-click. Mossberg did in fact make that rifle for Montgomery Wards.
A sight ward is an item you can buy from the item shop and activate to place where you click on your screen. The sight ward will be invisible and grant vision of the immediate area around the sight ward for 3 minutes. P.S Sight wards were replaced with stealth wards.
Never heard of a model 50, model 51 yes, but, no model 50. There is a model 50. It is a like the 51 but without the mannlicher stock. http://home.epix.net/~damguy/exploded.htm It was also made for Wards Western Field as the model 04m-489a The 51 has an S100 receiver peep sight as does the 51m (full Mannlicher style stock). The rear sight on the model 50 has the barrel mounted one adjustable for windage and elevation. Check out: http://home.epix.net/~damguy/models.htm
I recommend checking online for videos and forums to assist you in setting the sight for your rifle. With each rifle and barrell, it will differ on how the sight is set and someone with more knowledge may be able to assist you.
The M4, like most US military rifles made in the past 70 years, uses a ring and post sight system. The front sight, a post, is placed on your target, being elevated or depressed to account for range, and centered in the circle of the rear ring sight. Do a Google search for FM m16 rifle, and find the Field Manual for the rifle- it shows illustrations of sight alignment and sight picture.
You sight it to a specific range , e.g. 100 meters. Clamp the rifle to a solid object, or use a benchrest. Shoot at a target and adjust the sight accordingly, until the holes in the target zero in to the sight.
Assuming you mean a Mauser 24/47, use the sight as you would any open rifle sight. The slider on the rear sight adjusts for range- marked in meters.
"Senses" ? sight and hearing are senses - you question makes no sense.
