Can you tell me the approx value of a 1869 Napoleon 111 empire coin and also a coin I believe to be a spanish dollar with the wording " dei gratia carolus 1111" on it dated 1792
You didn't specify whether it's a silver dollar or a gold dollar; both types were minted in 1852. If it's a silver dollar with that date it should be checked by a dealer to make sure it's not counterfeit. 1852 is a scarce date for Seated Liberty dollars and there are many fakes on the market. If it's a gold dollar, please see the Related Question for specific information.
I bought one for $200.00 in AU55 condition from a dealer in Ohio.
Retail values for 1852 Liberty Head gold dollar coins run from $126.00-$270.00 for circulated examples. Uncirculated start at $288.00
The U.S. mint did not produce any $50.00 gold coins in 1852 of any shape. Post new question with a complete description of the piece.
I have a 1858 California 1/2 gold cion but know nothing of it?
The bear is a dead give away that it's a fake or modern replica and have no numismatic value. Also it may be gold plated or have a small amount of gold in it. Many pieces are back dated to the 1850's & 1860's. As to value I have seen groups of these ( 10 to 12) sell at auction for under $20.00.
7-15-11>>> The US has never made a gold coin with the denomination of less than one dollar. Most are modern replicas and have no numismatic value.
Impossible to say. Value of any gun is based on EXACT make, model, and condition. In the case of antique guns, condition is a MAJOR factor. You will need a hands-on appraisal.
There is no record of a British 1852 Penny having been minted.
