I believe they are worth about 80 bucks, pretty sure they were made for Montgomery ward by the Iver Johnson company around 1940, i just bought one in about 85% condition for fifty bucks, I don't believe the store brands are very collectable, I just wanted one to shoot and plink around with, Ive looked at several new models of the 410 doubble, cheapest one I could find was $350.00, seen em as high as $750.00, I think I got a great deal!
I'm not sure of the value of your shotgun. I have a Montgomery Wards Hercules, double barrel shotgun, with external hammers. With all the research I have done it is a Stevens 217. I have been looking for a set of barrels for this gun. Can you describe your gun to me. Petter
It's really a Stevens model 94. Hercules was a Montgomery Ward brand name. Hercules was made by Iver Johnson from 1918-1943. I have a Montgomery Ward Hercules 16 ga. double. Does anyone know who made it. There are no brand or model numbers.SN X76777
I have a 16 gauge double barrel for sale.
2-6 USD or so
The T C Montgomery double barrel shotgun with double barrel hammers is valued at $75 in fait condition. In good condition its valued at $160.
Wards sold single shot and double barrel IJ shotguns under the tradename of Hercules.
If there is a serial number, it should be conspicously marked on the receiver. Shotguns and small caliber rifles did not require serial numbers before 1968, so many do not have one. If it is a break-action single shot or double barrel, there may be additional markings on the bottom of the barrel(s) and on the flat parts of the action that the barrel covers when the it is closed. The Hercules brand name was used by Montgomery Ward on guns made by Iver Johnson and J. Stevens.
A shotgun barrel with a cylinder bore choke.
yes a rifled shotgun barrel or smooth shotgun barrel
Manufactured by Stevens Arms, 1931-1941. Montgomery Wards. Hercules was just their name for this model.
