I don't know, but maybe it will help you to know that I have a 1930 James Carlin 24 x 30 without the frame, oil on canvas. I had it appraised in 1978 for fair market value of $15000 (in 1978, and Carlin was still alive) and it is in excellent condition. The appraisal said similar works sold for $35,000 at that time. It is " Old Terminal Theater" Newark NJ, New addition 11/10/08: Well, I'm not sure where the appraiser got that number. I am a fine arts appraiser and can tell you that in recent years (2000-2008), Carlin's oil on masonite or oil on canvas works have sold in the range of $3000-$4000. The most recent sale of an oil on masonite piece was in 2006. It measured 23" x 30" and was a scene of burlesque dancers and it sold for $4,200
