Although it's gold plated, the coin did not have any collectible value to start with. Kennedy half dollars are not rare or even scarce. It's considered a novelty coin that's only value is to someone who wants it.
If you check the back you'll find that you have a halfdollar. There has never been a US-issued Kennedy silver dollar.
No US dollar coins were struck in 1963, look at the coin again and post new questionIf your coin has a picture of Benjamin Franklin on the front, turn it over and check the denomination. It should be a halfdollar.
All US half dollars dated 1974 were struck in copper-nickel. They have no added value, so feel free to spend it.

US 1974 $100 bills were only issued in one series so there were none printed with a letter after the date. Perhaps you're looking at the Federal Reserve District letter or a plate-position indicator. There's more information at the question "What is the value of a 1974 US 100 dollar bill?"
