The average cost of a Lefever Nitro Special shotgun at auction is $650. This amount may be higher or lower depending on the condition of the gun.

Despite the name, it is not a machine gun. Value seldom exceeds 100 USD

If it doesn't say Lefever somewhere on the gun, I don't think you have a Lefever.

In order to determine the age of Lefever shotgun, the serial number must be known. However, Lefever shotguns were only made and distributed between 1885-1916.

You've got too many numbers there. sales@countrygunsmith.net

The best that I can do is say that the Lefever Nitro special was made from 1921-1948.

Your shotgun was manufactured in 1923, by Ithica Guns which took over the Lefever brand when they acquired the corporation in 1916.

Not enough information. What grade? What condition? sales@countrygunsmith.net

The value of ANY gun is based on 3 factors- exact MAKE, MODEL, and CONDITION. You gave us ONE of the THREE factors we need. There were several models of the Lefever shotgun- value may range from $100 to $900. You will need a "hands-on" appraisal to determine actual value.

Depends somewhat on gauge of shotgun & condition. 410 usually goes for $350-$400 in very good condition.

Your Lefever Nitro special will range in price from 300-450 dollars, based on your shotgun having between 60%-90% of its original finish remaining and a good set of bores.

Somewhere between $200 and $3000. Lefever ceased operation in 1913 or so. They were well made guns, and DO have a collector's market- but value is based on MAKE MODEL and CONDITION. You will need a hands-on appraisal. Take your shotgun to a good gun shop or gun show in your area.

Does anyone know? The marking on this shotgun only says, "Excelsior 77 Super". It is a beautiful shotgun, double barrell 20 guage with true wood stock and some engraving. Just trying to find out who made it and about how old it may be.

If it is a double, remove barrel and you will see it along with serial #.
