Those dated 1938 or 1939 AND have a "D" or "S" mintmark to the right of the building, are rare dates and will be worth at least a dollar and perhaps a lot more. Those dated 1939 (with no mintmark) AND have the word MONTICELLO clearly doubled, are worth $25 or more. Anything dated 1942 to 1945 AND with a large "P", "D", or "S" mintmark above the building are made from silver and are worth at least 75 cents. Lastly, if dated 1950, with a "D" mintmark to the right of the building, that is a rare date worth $10 or more. Anything else would have to be in gem uncirculated condition to have any significant added value.

it depends where the nickel is but in u.s. it is worth....

.....1935 is not a rare date for Buffalo nickels. Look for a small D or S under the words FIVE CENTS on the back.

If there's no letter, or an S, in circulated condition it's worth about 75¢ to $1. A nice uncirculated one is worth about $35.

If there's a D, it's worth $1 or more; uncirculated ones sell for $70 or more.

It is necessary to know the amount of wear and mint mark (if it has one) to be able to make an estimate of value. I would suggest you take your coin to a reliable dealer and have it appraised.

In circulated condition, pretty much face value only. If it looks nearly new, it might be worth all of 2 or 3 cents retail A dealer will give you 1 cent for it.

1938 George VI Bronze Halfpennies are not rare. In ordinary circulated condition they would be worth 10p - 20p. However, in mint UNC (Uncirculated) state around £10.
