The third finger is the ring finger of the left hand. First finger is the index finger, second finger is the middle finger, and the fourth finger is the pinkie. Only the fingers of the left hand are numbered.

What is a d sharp on a viola?

An F Sharp is a note on the viola. To play this note, you put you second finger on the D string (2nd highest string) and it will either play an F natural, or an F sharp. The F finger would be touching the third finger, the G note. If you are playing an F natural, The F finger would be touching the first finger, the E note. Make sure that when you are playing the F Sharp note, there should be a space between the F Sharp note and the E note, your first finger.

How do you play in third position for violin?

I have two different teachers saying two different things, but this is what the better one says: Bounce the bow on the string, making sure you hit all three notes. Sometimes it's a little difficult to get the bottom note, too, so just work at it a little. Hope this helps! (:

How do you play b flat on the violin?

On the G, you put your second finger down and right next to it you put your third finger(ring finger). That is a low C. On the A string, you put your first finger down in it's normal position and then place your second finger right next to it. On the E string, you go up to third position and put your second finger down in it's spot as a B and put your third finger right next to it. Voila!

Is c 9 a barre chord?

Typically, C9 is played as a partial barre chord like this: high E string - covered at third fret by barring with the ring finger B string - covered at third fret by barring with the ring finger G string - covered at third fret by barring with the ring finger D string - index finger at second fret A string - middle finger at third fret low E string - don't play You can also make an open position version of C9 in the following way: high E string - play open B string - pinky at third fret G string - ring finger at third fret D string - index finger at second fret A string - middle finger at third fret low E string - don't play This second version doesn't have the G note in the chord, but that's acceptable to leave out in most cases.

How do you play G violin?

I presume you mean how do you play the note G? Simply play the lowest string (the one furthest to the left). If you want a higher one try 3rd finger on the D (the one to the right of G) string or 2nd finger on E string (the rightmost string).

Can one cello play octave double stops?

Yes. If the lower note isn't an open string, use the thumb for the lower note and use the third finger for the higher note. If the lower note is an open string, use the open string for the lower note and use the fourth finger for the higher note if you want to be in first position.
