Well, instead of the obvious reason (death), the Jews were blamed. Everyone accused the Jews of poisoning the wells and being the cause of the Black Death. This, of course, was not true, but in the medieval times, if anything bad happened, everyone pointed their fingers at the Jews.
Also, any type of art was changed into a depressing mood. It was mainly paintings of skeletons, the overall theme being death. People tried to laugh about the Black Death, making silly rhymes and riddles, this being where "Ring around the Rosie" came in. This rhyme was made during the time of the Black Death, but I wouldn't necessarily call this a bad thing since it is so popular today.
Hope this helped!! :)
The black death was quite bad and killed around 30 million people
At that time period, there wasn't anything worse than Black Death or Black Plague. It doesn't even compare to AIDs and Swine Flu combined.
That would depend on what you mean by "the worst".... personally, to those who suffered from it, or globally, as in a pandemic.
Pneumonic plague ( once called the black death) can easilly be treated with modern antibiotics. There is no medicine to treat Ebola. So today, Ebola is worse.

The worst famine ever was the four famines in China during 1810-1850. These famines (which are usually grouped together as one famine) had a death toll of over 45,000,000.
The worst avalanche ever recorded in the United States based on death rates would be the avalanche in Wellington, Washington State, in the winter of 1910.
