Turn the key to start and if nothing happens could be a bad starter.
Attempt to start-nothing happens or may drag like weak battery-or may grind
If there is a single click from the starter area, the starter is bad. If not, it could be an ignition switch.
If the starter is engaging and the starter is able to turn the engine normally, there is nothing wrong with the solenoid. Instead, I'd look at fuel, ignition and compression.
motor won't start.
Your car will not start.
I had a similar problem turns out the Alternator was bad.
Low or no oil and you seized the internal bearings Overheated and burned out the starter
Vehicle won't start Vehicle won't start when hot (starter drags) Starter spins not engaging flywheel (ring gear)
The starter is worn out. Eventually tapping it won't work anymore and you will be stuck. Replace it before that happens.
might be starter relay, or the crank circuitry from the switch or to the starter from the relay. I would trace back from the starter to the starter relay back through the neutral safety switch to the ignition switch.
Your ignition relay might be bad if you have good power at the battery, but nothing happens at the starter when you turn the key, all the lights light up and everything appears normal, but the starter will not engage. You may also hear a click when turning the key to start, but nothing else.
Hi, I think you should check your car alternator and starter. It is common problems
Make sure the Car is in PARK, if it is in gear like Drive or Reverse, the Car won't start even if the battery and starter are fine.
If it is the solenoid just take a small jumper wire and jump out the two small terminals on the front of the solenoid and the starter should try to start the engine. If nothing happens then it is bad. Or you could take a volt meter and go from ground to the starter side of the solenoid and get some one to take the key and try to start it ,if you get 12volts and the starter doesn't try to engage then your starter is bad ,if you don't get 12volts then your solenoid is bad.
could be a dead cell in the battery, a loose ground or hot wire on the starter, or the starter could be bad.
There is nothing you can do to make your first period start. It will happen when it happens.
Sounds like you need a new starter I have a 96 I30 and the same thing happened. It turns out that the starter had a bad spot on it so after you tried it a few times it would start. It's just a matter of time before it goes completely out.
You can turn the engine over by the bolt on the crank. But I do think it's the solenoid on the starter that's bad. try tapping the starter with a hammer while someone is trying to start it with the key. If it starts then you know you need a starter.
Yep, starter is going bad.
you burn out your starter or your fly wheedl
the advantage of erosion is nothing all that happens is things start to break down so nothing
