The 2000 and up Impala's have a feature called RAP or Retained Accessory Power. This allows you to operate your radio and windows without the key or car being on for 10 min after you shut off the engine opening the doors will shut off the RAP and you will need to turn on the car again to roll up windows and such. I don't know what the cause of it is but we had that happen one day about 3 months ago. Prior to it not shutting off we got "garbled" reception from the radio..then when we parked the vehicle and started to exit the radio didn't shut off. We found the fuse (in the fuse box on the passenger side) and pulled the fuse and put it back in. We havn't had a problem since. Doesn't help you with the "why" questions but may help others from a dead battery. Karen
It could be a number of things, you need to have the computer scanned to find out what is wrong.
The RPM is not working on 2002 chevy impala LS. transmission and engine sounds good- no problem. what's wrong
my o6 chevy impala is lighting up on the dash that the engine is hot but the gauge is saying its cold what is wrong and how can i fix it?
I'm having the same trouble with the 2004 Impala.
means its time for a new trannsmission, and you probably put it in gear when moving .... i have an impala and if u take it out of gear when it is in motion say good bye to the tranny
You can find Impala parts at a local Chevy dealer, or you can also go to a local automotive supply store. You can also return the wrong parts you got for a replacement with the right parts.
Replace the paulse board that's attached to the wiper motor.
Blown fuse.
nothing that I know of.
Several things could cause the 2001 Impalas check engine light to stay on. Since so many things could be wrong, check the computer codes for any leads on possible problems.
If you installed an aftermarket radio and had to change the wiring you have a wire in the wrong place.
Changing the battery should have no bearing on the SRS light, and it may just be a coincidence. Regardless, do not attempt to repair the SRS. Working on this system can cause serious injury. Take it to a professional, as something is wrong with the system.
