Clutch free play needs adjusting. On a vw clutch you muct be sure the system is bled, if it has been successfully bled then you must adjust the shift linkages.
If it does this in all gears, I bet your clutch is shot. Other things that could cause problems are the Clutch master cylinder or clutch slave cylinder.
it depends on what kind of cluch you want to go with,at a Chevy dealership you can get a Toyota clutch or a chevey clutch. I had to put in a new clutch in my 96 prism and it was a Toyota and it costed me about 800
You spelled "beetle" wrong.
The clutch is not adjusted correct, if adjustable, I don't know the year your working on. There is air in the system, needs to be bleed again real good. Could have wrong throwout bearing too.
the forward gear clutch pack is worn out. the only solution is to get the transmission rebult.
what is wrong when my 2008 Ford Taurus X has no reverse
If it still has a reverse, just in the wrong place, then the linkage or cable from the shift lever to the transmission has streched or fallen out of alignment.
once on my 99 beetle the cable on the transmission broke and i wouldn't take 1st, 2nd and reverse.it would just go straight to 3rd. i just replaced the ending of the cable which was really cheap at the dealer. and voula!!!
if you feel or hear it engage when put in reverse but will not move or even roll down the drive way. But rolls fine in neutral. a clutch pack is engaged that should not be.
You may need to adjust your clutch or replace your clutch.
have you tried your reverse band. my 93 beretta has no reverse and that's what is wrong with it.have you tried your reverse band. my 93 beretta has no reverse and that's what is wrong with it.
You can not. The two cars are completely different...the New Beetle has the engine at the wrong end. The New Beetle is bigger than the Old.
Possibly the clutch was installed facing the wrong way, or the clutch has not had enough time to properly seat.
Because the shaft(s) in the gearbox are still spinning and the reverse gear typically doesn't have synchromesh to equalise their speeds as it engages. The shaft(s) are still spinning for one of three reasons: a) the clutch friction disc has not fully released from either of it's mating surfaces b) the oil in the gearbox is the wrong grade or quantity c) you are trying to shift into reverse too soon after disengaging the clutch Anti-sieze compount (e.g copper grease) on the input shaft splines may cure (a) if the clutch pressure plate isn't faulty and the clutch cable (or hydraulics if used) are correctly adjusted. (b) is unlikely unless the gearbox has been leaking or it's had it's oil changed shortly before the problem began.
Most likely, the clutch or the clutch pilot bearing is dragging. This is caused by clutch hydraulic leaks not letting the clutch fully disengage or the clutch pressure plate/disc/flywheel is warped. Crawl under the car, (engine off)have a friend push/release pedal, see if slave cylinder throw seems adequate and look for leaks. If throw is short, problem is in the clutch hydraulics; if throw is normal, problem is the clutch.
A Saturn clutch is self adjusting. It's a hydraulic system and if the clutch is not adjusting properly it indicates that there is something wrong with the clutch mechanism, either clutch disk, pressure plate or hydraulic components.
to start with when you push in on the clutch pedal you are disengaging it. Your description sounds like the clutch has clutched its last clutch What if it is not the clutch?
There is no tightening. It is hydraulic and self-adjusting. If you have little or no clutch, you need a new clutch or something is wrong in the hydraulics.
If the engine is running/idling to high, it will make putting it into reverse very difficult. Manual transmissions rarely have internal problems aside from clutch assembly replacement. That's not to say it couldn't have a problem though.
If it's a hydraulic clutch, try bleeding the slave cylinder. Manual linkage, try adjusting the clutch. If no help, something's wrong with the pressure plate and you need a new clutch.
it was changed to istanbul. This is wrong^
Your clutch needs adjusted or replaced.
pizza beatle spelling is wrong it is beetle.aaliya ahamed
I would say air in the line, or you need a new clutch
The transmission. or clutch if it has one.
