IDK yup
1996 Chevrolet cavalier shuts off while driving and have to put in natural or park to restart
If it doesn't restart it could be charging system failure, fuel pump failure or timing belt failure (if equipped).
If your Dakota shuts down after 5 or 10 seconds then change the map sensor. If it shuts down after 3 or 4 minutes of driving and won't restart look for a bad harmonic balancer. Experienced both!
Had same problem on my 03. Replaced the fuel and air filter and had plugs replaced. Ran like new after. Dont know which its was but a place to start.
Quit playing with the switch...
I have the same problem and have been researching, looks as if it is a faulty or warn coil pack over heating and cuting out as i am getting no spark but have fuel and air.
Ignition module
The alternator is most likely the problem
Probably because the program causing the problem shuts down and then the system restarts normally.
Yes I can restart it and it will run fine for a whilethen it may or may not shut down that day.
sounds like ignition module. Check for spark while cranking engine when it decidedly shuts down on you.
the f-150 fuel system shuts off and also does not restart sometimes , i changed the filter and fuel pump and problem still exist. the f-150 fuel system shuts off and also does not restart sometimes , i changed the filter and fuel pump and problem still exist.
