The battery is located under the hood on a 2000 Chevrolet Lumina. The battery will be on the drivers side.

follow the battery + cable from the battery down to the starter post. There you will find a starter.

You have to unbolt that brace that is right above it. There are two bolts, completely take out the front bolt and then loosen the rear bolt justy enough to swing it. Hope that this helps you. Swed173
Any place that sells batteries can tell you the correct size battery. The AC/Delco battery is one of the best.
Take the cables off of the battery. Remove the battery hold down clamp and lift the battery out. Set the new battery in, reinstall the holddown, then connect the cables back.

GM vehicles use side post batteries. The terminals are on the side of the battery. 98 Lumina with 3.8 it's on the drivers side under a red plastic cap for positive.

The battery on a 1995 Chevy Lumina 3100 is located on the right side of the car underneath the engine coolant reservoir. To change the battery, you have to take off safety bar, remove engine coolant reservoir, then undo the battery restraints. Washer fluid reservoir is on right, over battery. Coolant reservoir is on left. There is a hold down piece at bottom of battery, will need an extension to reach it.

Mine is white in color.
