heart attack
The coil boosts the 12 volts from your battery to tens of thousands of volts for your spark plugs, if it stops working, the car stops working. It however is controlled by your engine control module using input from things like the crankshaft position sensor. Find the coil pack, there will be thick wires going to each cylinder and several small connectors. Make sure they are all tight, but not while the engine is running, those tens of thousands of volts will sting you.
The coolant stops pumping through the block and heads once the engine is shut down. The block and heads are still hot so the coolant in the block and heads temporarily gets hotter.
it stops accelerating at terminal velocity due to the air
remove the pump and clean the filter screen and you really need to replace the tank.
You get it fixed at agarage
most likely the gauge
Guess! And follow ppl.
If the gas gauge stops working is there a fuse for it?
If the speedometer and odometer both quit I would blame the speed sensor. If only the speedometer quit I would blame the instrument cluster.
this question should be listed under automobiles repair
Sounds like a bad cable
$1500-$2000 to suck it
The speed sensor is bad.
When the speedometer stops working and the ABS or traction disabled light comes on in a vehicle it indicates that the vehicle's ABS system is faulty. This could be indicative of a faulty wheel sensor or the ABS tracking system itself.
Because it's stuffed
There is a small plastic gear in the gauge cluster that is prone to failure. Buy a set (2 parts, 1 each) here and replace it. This requires removing some trim but is a reasonable ~3 hour project for most DIY people. I'm assuming you have an analog gauge. Good luck.
