If by " rolls down all by itself" you mean that it slowly slides down while traveling in the car, then my advice would be to take the door panel off and check to see if the window came off the the lower clips. If every thing looks sound and or the window is electronicly rolling itself down I don't know what to tell you.

Remove the 1997 Chevrolet Suburban drivers side door panel. The window mechanism will be visible. Place the new window into the window track. Secure the window to the track.

you can call your local salvage yard, then disassemble the door and replace the glass. Very simple if you take your time.

Each window is by itself. The rear pass. and front drivers would have nothing to do with the front pass. window. Manual or power it wouldn't make any difference.

If the drivers side window works; yet, the other three do not check the window lock by the window controls on the drivers door. If it is pressed it will lock the other three windows no matter where you try to roll them down from. If this button has not been pressed I would suspect that the switch is bad or there is a loose connection inside the door panel.

i have a 2001 Nissan altima and the power window switch had a problem... only the drivers window had a problem. I took it to the dealor b/c there is a recall on the power window switches and they replaced all 4 for free. Not sure if the 2000 year has the same recall, but it's worth checking out.
