They are doing more to produce stronger and stronger strains of bacteria for the sake of our misguided phobias. Another moronic answer. Stronger???? look fool - the suggestion is that they provoked development of antibiotic resistance in bacteria - but numerous research studies have failed to show this to be true.

All soaps are antibacterial due to the washing and surfactant action of the detergent in the soap. Many studies have shown that so-called antibacterial soaps do not appreciably improve the count or viability of bacteria on the surface of the skin, therefore 'antibacterial' claims on soaps are mostly for marketing purposes.

Well simply put it's liquid soap but it contains an antibacterial agent that will kill bacteria and the soap helps move out and break down the discharge material the piercing makes as it heals. Once it's diluted, lathered and applied to the piercing it's worked in by moving the jewellery then it's flushed out using warm running water (best do this in the shower) and move the jewellery while rinsing to help flush the piercing out. Done once every couple of days ensures the piercing stays happy and healthy.

Actually, antibacterial soap and antibacterial sanitizers usually do about the same job on bacteria, killing roughly 99.99% of germs.
