What is wrong with your 1993 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS if the RPMs went up and the MPH down while you were driving and now it won't shift out of park?

It sounds like your transmission is slipping. I would recommend taking to a transmission shop for evaluation. slipping transmission, or bad torque convertor, or if it was more like a snap, you could have busted your transaxle. (i did it twice by neutral-dropping) Sounds like what happened to mine when I broke the axel.
