well if you have a fuel cut off swith you might want to see if it has been triped if so find it push the button and try to start it also have fuse that can make it not start up chek them and try again it might be the problem
There are many reasons why a car won't start. Some of these reasons could be the lack of fuel, drained battery, bad starter, bad alternator or bad starter solenoid.
most likely your battery is dead or you need a new starter.
Right in front of the oil pan (2.8l) Disconnect the battery before getting a wrench close to the starter. The starter has a HOT battery cable runnign directly to it. Shorting this to the frame with a wrench might start a fire, blow up your battery, or both.
There is no battery in the starter.
Connect positive to positive post (red) on the battery and connect the negative to a place on the engine away from the battery.
probably the starter
the most likely cause is a flat battery and or dirty battery terminals check all electrical connections from battery to starter (hope this helps)
battery cable is loose Also check... The ticking sound comes from the starter not getting enough battery power. Even though there is battery power, there is not sufficient load power from the battery to start the vehcile. Put a volt meter across the battery posts and try and start the vehicle. If the voltage drops below 9 volts you need a new battery.
Could be your starter. See this write up I created when I replaced mine. http://hubpages.com/hub/Starter-Removal-1999-Pontiac-Grand-Prix.?Now bare in mind. It could be several things, from the starter, to the fuse, to the battery connections, as well as the neutral safety switch. What are the symptom's
show me where the starter relay is are on a 2000 Pontiac Bonneville
I've had this happen to me 2 times for the following reason. Check and see if it will start while in Neutral. If it does, then it is likely your Neutral Safety Switch. Doesn't necessary mean it is bad, as sometimes it just need to be adjusted. Also, if you know the starter is good, as mine was and I had HAD a good battery, it turned out that I had a dead cell in it. So if it is on that dead cell, it won't start. Also check the starter solenoid.
Starter lockout relay, next to the battery.
