The latest value provided by Sears Roebuck and Company for the JC Higgins model 33 pump action rifle 22 is about $21. However, this price may fluctuate depending on the location and year of manufacture.Ê
Sears discontinued the sale of all firearms in 1980
It's actually a J.C. Higgins sold by Sears in the early 50's, the 51 might have actually been the year they sometimes do models like that. In good condition it's $250 near the excellent to new $500+ I, rclark137@cox.net , have a rifle with Sears & Roebuck engraved on barrel. It has Belgion (mouser) bolt action 30-06. I'm looking for history of this sports rifle. Thanks
The number you are referring to is not the serial number. That number is the catalog number for Sears & Roebuck. The serial number is on the bottom of the rifle. V147XXX (example). These guns are essentially a Winchester 94 made for Sears & Roebuck Company produced between 1964 through 1978. There are no records available to confirm the exact year it was produced. Hope this helps.
Sears had this product for sale in the 1950's. Sears got completely out of the gun business in 1980.
The Sears Roebuck Model 108.1501 Saw was built possibly in late 2011, and then later released in early of the year 2012. The price ranged in the hundreds when first released.
sears, roebuck commander model 151.271 serial 16683 sewing machine. I need a price please
The JC Higgins trade name was used by Sears Roebuck from the mid 1940s to the early 1970s. The 583.17 was manufactured by High Standard, but did not have an equivalent model under the HS trademark.
The J C Higgins model 20 pump shotgun 583 55 was actually made by Sears. Sears and Roebuck & co. owned High Standard and held all the licenses for this gun .583 means House brand exclusive Sears product. 55 is the Sears code for the year 1948
I am not positive but I believe you are asking about a BB rifle made for sears by Crosman air gun company. I "Think" it is the Crosman model V350. It is a push barrel made between 1961 - 69. See the link below for the owners manual.
Your model 33 was made by High Standard for Sears Roebuck exclusively between 1954 and early 1961.
Sears first began in 1886 as the R.W. Sears Watch Company in Minneapolis, MN. Sears hired Roebuck in 1887, moved his company to Chicago, and in 1893 the corporate name of the firm became Sears, Roebuck and Co. At that time, all sales were done by mail-order from a catalog. The first store was opened in the Chicago mail-order plant in 1925 and was so successful that seven more stores were opened in the area by the end of that year.
I believe the rifle is a Marlin 101?! I don't know the year of manufacture, and I doubt it would be listed on the barrel. Good Luck!!!
No public sn data available.
With such a detailed description of your shotgun, all I can say is that Sears sold shotguns, including .410 gauge, from the 1880's to about 1990.
Exact year cannot be determined from data given. 583.91 is not a serial number, but a Sears model number.
what year was jc Higgins sears and roebuck model 20 12 gauge 583.60 made

Richard Warren Sears and Alvah Curtis Roebuck were the founders of the American chain of department stores, Sears, Roebuck and Company, in the late 19th century. Richard Sears learned telegraphy and got a job with the railroad, eventually becoming a station agent. A shipment of pocket watches from Chicago was refused by the purchaser. Sears, who was 23, bought the shipment himself and sold them to other station agents along the railroad line. In six months he had netted $5,000 and felt so confident that he founded the R.W. Sears Watch Company. In 1887 Sears moved his company from Minneapolis to Chicago and hired watch repairman Alvah Curtis Roebuck to repair any watches being returned. Roebuck was Sears's first employee, and he later became co-founder in 1893 of Sears, Roebuck and Company when Sears was just 30 years old. Roebuck left the company a few years later. The first Sears catalog offered only watches and was published the year the company was founded. By 1897, men and women's clothing, bicycles and other household goods were added. Sears retired at age 44.The 500-page catalog was sent to some 300,000 homes. In 1908 Sears began to sell mail order homes through the catalogs which was quite an innovation. Sears retired that year at 44 and died in 1914 at the young age of 51.In 1895, Roebuck asked Sears to buy him out for about $20,000. Later when asked about his ex-partner's great wealth, and his own modest wealth he replied: "He's dead. Me, I never felt better." Roebuck later served as president of Emerson Typewriter Company where he invented an improved typewriter. After the Stock Market crash in1929 he returned to Chicago and by 1933, he had rejoined Sears, Roebuck and Co., where he largely devoted his time to compiling a history of the company he helped found. He died in 1948 at the age of 84.
