Yellow light of death is caused by overheating and poor design of cooling and chip attachment to the motherboard. After playing your PS3 for a few hours what happens is the temperature rises to a point where the solder joints attaching the CPU and GPU chips to the motherboard liquefy and then solidify again once you switch the console off.

The game does not cause the yellow light of death. You can know this for sure because not every person who has a PS3 that had the yellow light of death has played Call of Duty games.

If you're talking about entering cheat codes into the game, then no you will not get the Yellow Light of Death.
Send it in for warranty repair
I believe that was a fat PS3 problem
