What issues were Jesus concerned about?

His main concerns were for the poor and those without hope; he reached out to people that society often condemned, such as tax collectors or criminals or prostitutes. He especially preached that wealth and power were not important: helping the poor and serving the Lord were what mattered most. He also preached that the kingdom of God was about to be established, and said that he was willing to give up his own life for the forgiveness of sins. The New Testament repeatedly speaks of his compassion for those who were less fortunate, and for his desire for people to be reconciled with God.
