In today's world a four year college degree in history opens the door to several career choices. Generally speaking, in the US, for example, a history degree can be the basis for graduate work in history and using the history degree as way to obtain a job in teaching history. It is the lift off point for becoming a teaching career in US universities, college and high school. Many history degree students however, qualify for entry level jobs in the private and public sector. The degree in history or other major, is often enough to get an interview for a job that requires a college degree. In these circumstances, training is often provided by the employer.

There is no degree in "military history" per se. A student would take history as the major in a BA degree and then focus on military history. Because of the requirements of any baccalaureate degree, it is likely that the focus on military history, particularly during a specific time in history or a specific part of the world or a country would be the undertaking of a graduate student or PhD candidate.
I would get a teaching cred. with that history degree. What else are you going to do with a degree in history? Might consider law as well or political science with your history, but remember the reason you go to college is so when you finish you can find a good job.

Choosing a worthwhile career with a history degree can be difficult. The only option a student seems to have is becoming a teacher. One other alternative choice is to become a lawyer and attend law school. A history degree is very valuable for law school.
