These two cases are represented by "positive" acceleration. The opposite cases (slowing down in the positive direction or speeding up in the negative direction) are represented by "negative" acceleration.

A moving object accelerates or decelerates when a force is applied on it. Whether it accelerates or decelerates depends on the force applied.

Yes. If the velocity is increasing it is called (positively) accelerating and if the velocity is decreasing it is negatively accelerating also called decelerating.

Acceleration = Rate of change of velocity/speed. And no, it does not take into count the direction, it's not a vector.

Velocity is the change of speed and/or direction of an object?

FALSE. Acceleration is the change of speed and/or direction of an object.

Acceleration is the change of speed and or direction of an object?

True

Velocity is the change of speed andor direction of an object?

Not exactly. Velocity is the speed and direction of an object's motion. If either speed or direction changes, then the change is the object's 'acceleration'.

When you know both the speed and direction of an object's while it is in motion do you know the acceleration of the object?

No. For you to know acceleration you need the rate of change of speed and the direction.

Can an object be moving if acceleration is zero?

Yes. Acceleration is defined as a change of speed and/or direction of motion. If the speed and direction of motion are constant, then there is no acceleration.

What is the defintion of acceleration?

Acceleration is any change in the speed and/or the direction of an object's motion.

Is acceleration a change in the position of an object?

Yes. Acceleration is a change in velocity. As velocity is a vector (direction and speed) changing either the speed or direction will change the velocity and thus be an acceleration (or decelleration)

A change in speed or direction?

A change in speed or direction is caused by a force and is called acceleration.

What kind of motion does the speed and direction not change?

Acceleration in motion refers to a change in speed or direction of that object's motion. So a type of motion in which speed and direction do not change is a motion in which the acceleration is constant (i.e. unchanging).

Velocity is the change of speed and direction of an object?

No. Velocity is the present speed and direction of motion. If speed or direction changes, then that's 'acceleration'.

What causes a change in acceleration and velocity?

Acceleration is the change in velocity and/or What_three_ways_can_acceleration_change_an_objects_motionof an object. Acceleration can either speed an object up, slow it down (deceleration), or change the direction in which the object is moving.

Is it true or false that acceleration can only occur when the speed of an object changes?

No. Acceleration is change of velocity. It occurs when an object changes speed and/or direction.
