I found that the bands actually hurt a lot more than the actual braces...in fact putting the braces on was a piece of cake... :) i agree, i mean i have bands on ATM and im getting more braces (traintracks) in two days time and the pulling of the teeth from the bands is extremely painful and, as all my mates have traintracks, apprantley the actual braces don't hurt as much and the only thing that hurts when getting your braces on is the numbness in your butt when you have to sit there for an hour whilst the dentist puts the braces on :)

you get to help other people and even though its just there teeth it puts a smile on their face. When i got my braces off i couldn't stop smiling and i got a lot of compliments. on teeth!! it really boosted my confidence.

Try to eat soft foods like mashed potatoes, soup, apple sauce, Jell-O, etc. The orthodontist should also give you wax to put on your teeth when they feel sore. It's fine if you swallow the wax.
