We have been watching two magpies feed what looks like some kind of hawk or eagle,it is really intreging to watch,but I am trying to find out if this is normal,we live in the Blue Mountains of N.S.W

∙ 11y agoI JUST rode past a group of magpies attacking what looked like a piece of bread. As I got closer they flew off and what I thought was bread was in fact a rodent, a baby rat or some sort of mousey/vole, though it seemed too big to be either of those. It was still alive and looked in shock. Presumably it was injured. So....I guess they eat more than mice, and evidentally don't simply scavenge on dead animals!
