I have a '94. The hood opens opposite of the norm - from back to front. You pop the hood latch near the door hinge, lift the front a bit then pull the hood back fron the windshield.
There is a release under the dash, and if my memory is correct a second release on near the windshield. The hood opens toward the front of the car, the hinges are near the headlights.
A mercury switch is an electronic switch that opens or closes a circuit when the switch, or device it is attached to, tilts.
The hood latch is located up by the windshield. It opens backwards. The hood opens toward the front of the car rather than to the back like most cars. The hood release should be in the left side of the drivers seat compartment. Pull that to release the lock. Run your fingers under the hood lip by the bottom of the windshield and locate the secondary hood latch. Release the lock and pull the hood up and toward the front of the car. If one or both of the hood release cables are broken, Mid-America Motorworks sells a tool to aid you in opening it. http://content.madirect.com/pdf/609637.pdf

Thats Good For The Kitten!
A rainbow is merely the refraction of sunlight. It neither opens or closes, early or late. It is dependant on the angle of the sun relative to the observer and the presence of water vapour in the atmosphere.
I have an 87 and the lever is close to the drivers side door in front of the fuse box. Also under the hood is the AC, Windshield washer fluid container, the radiator, the radiator fluid container, the brake fluid container, spare tire and car jack. I had an 84 that had a lever under the dash. You pulled it and it popped. It opens reverse. Grab it by the windshield and pull up. Not much room but carries the spare tire and has a spot for the removeable sunroof if your car has that option.
Pull hood release inside by driver's door. In the front of the hood is a lever, push the lever to the right (toward the passenger side. Pull the hood straight forward. It will move 2 or 3 inches. Then go to the front of the hood by the windshield and pull up. The hood opens opposite of a regular hood.
You should be there a long time before it opens.
She has serious perspiration issues
no just front tilts and opens
