it depends on the climate you drive in, check with your local outo parts dealer and they should be able to tell you exactly what you need. Most of the time a good medium weight oil is ok. however in exctremely low temps you may need to pay more attention to the low numbers.

Your Nissan Teana came with an Owner's Manual. In the back of the Owner's Manual is an Index. In the Index, under the letter "O" you will find the word "Oil". Turn to the page it directs you to. There you will find the type of oil that should be used in the Nissan Teana.
Look in your owners manual. The 97 model used 5W30, but I am unsure of the 98 and later models.
