ok well this all depends if you are a begginer you should start out at about an "2" in the reed selection after about 1 year you could move up tp a 2 1/2 depending on how well you play and how offten you play!


i would suggest you use vandoren reeds that come in a blue box. they usually have a good sound. make sure you alternate reeds so that you don't wear out one reed to quickly.

You can message me for Clarinet questions, I have been playing Bb clarinet for over 10 years... I personally started out with a Rico Brand wooden reed. If you are a beginner and your lung capacity is low and your ligature is weak, a size 1 or 2 may be right for you. But really the size is a personal decision though you do want to make a good tone, the weather, marching band or concert band, and you personally depends on the reed you need to use!

A single, wooden one. The thickness varies: the thicker the reed the harder it is to play, but the better sound quality it gives.

It depends what level your on the Bass Clarinet, but I suggest Vandoren reeds.
