The concern about eating sushi when pregnant is because of the fish... it's thought that these days, because of pollution, there is enough Mercury in ocean-caught fish to be a health risk, and this applies to both cooked and raw fish (mercury is a metal and does not cook out). Plenty of sushi rolls are vegetarian, though, and that's some of the healthiest stuff you can eat, pregnant or not. My own thinking, for what it's worth, is that you're better off staying away from foods with preservatives, hydrogenated oils, pesticides, etc., and not worrying so much about fish.
It is not safe to eat undercooked or raw meat of any kind while pregnant. you can eat certain types of sushi that are all vegetables or cooked fish not any uncooked or ones that contain high mercury levels. Tuna is a big no-no, cooked or raw it is very high in mercury.
Yes, but I would avoid sushi and alcoholic beverages.
you can only eat certain fish raw, and they give you the safe kind in sushi
