A 2001 Pontiac Sunfire requires 1.8 quarts of DEXRON III fluid for the 5-speed manual transmission.
you answered it yourself, a 4 speed with overdrive
I need to know how to remove a rear wheel speed sensor on a 2002 Pontiac Sunfire
You have to get an aftermarket chip
This is kind of a curious question. Is the transmission pan off the car? Did you findno fluid in the pan or falling out of the transmission when you removed the pan?If it was dry, this is a bad thing. Sunfire transmissions hold between1.8 quarts (2001 and later manual) and 9.5 quarts (4 speed transaxles) oftransmission fluid.FriPilot
No, there is no connection between losing transmission fluid and the speed odometer not working. My mother's car lost all of it's transmission fluid but the odometer still worked.
The 1998 Pontiac 2.2 5 speed has a top end of 110 mph.
have car running on a level surface. pull out the transmission dipstick, normally it has a red top of some kind. wipe it clean, put it all the way back in and then pull it back out. you will see if your level is ok, by what it says on the bottom of the dipstick
Assuming that the 5 speed manual transaxle on a 2000 Sunfire is the same type used in a 1995 Sunfire, which uses an Isuzu 5-speed transaxle, the following is the part number specified in the service manual: Synchromesh transaxle fluid GM P/N 12345349. The service manual also says that an equivalent lubricant can be used. Hope this helps.
i got a 1991 grand am it is a 5 speed i need to no where to fill it
