Georgian
Georgian, which even has its own alphabet.

With a population of about 4.26 million, approximately 3.9 m of them speak Georgian, which is the official language of the country.

Other principle language groups within Georgia include:

  • Russian 9%
  • Armenian 7%
  • Azeri 6%
Of course, if someone has come from Georgia, they may well speak another language, perhaps one that is more common in the country where they now live. For example, singer Katie Melua is Georgian. Katie was born in Kutaisi, Georgia, and also lived five years in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia. But now (Sept 2009) she lives in the UK, and she speaks Georgian, Russian and English.
