The proclamation made the colonists angry because they were hoping to settle in western frontier but after the proclamation they were baned to settle there.

The American Colonists celebrated the end of the French and Indian War thinking they would finally have access to the rich lands west of the Appalachian Mountains. The Proclamation of 1763 stated that they wouldn't be allowed to settle there and the colonists were understandably resentful.
the rebellion showed the british government that defending western lands would be costly. therefore it issued the proclamation of 1763. this order forbade colonists to settle west of the Appalachians. the colonists were furious.
