We did this experiment in chemistry (well something like it). There's different chemicals that is out into the powder. The chemicals react differently when exposed to heat therefore when exposed to the extreme heat of the small explosion, the chemicals give off a certain color. The color depends on the chemical.
Different chemicals, usually metals, added to the powder. When they burn, the metals influence the color of the flame.
barium
Yes, the gunpowder reacts with oxygen. The oxygen comes from oxidizers perchlorates, chlorates, nitrates, permanganates, chromates or oxides. In propelling the rocket, potassium nitrate is used with black powder. Chlorates or perchlorates are used for the explosion as it reacts with carbon and sulfur rapidly. For the different colours of firework, various metal salts are used.
Well you put different metals inside the fireworks, and the cemical chemical reactions make it different colours. For example; copper makes green.

If you are 25 or older: Firework Younger than 25: Fireworks
Different colours appear because it is the way the human eye perceives them. Colours have different wave lengths and human's eyes can see that which makes you see it as a colour. The thing that makes colours different is the size of the wavelength.
It splits into the colours that make it up, so white light makes a rainbow, and different colours produce different results.
They put chemicals in it.
barium
Copper
light refracted by raindrops appear to be different colours
The song Firework is written to encouarage people to just be themselves because every one is different. We are all unique in our own way an that is what makes us all awesome.
A metal called aluminium.
barium nitrate
They just like different colours and it makes it look cool
It makes it easier to identify the different groups visually.
black powder forces the stars out and ignites them.
